HACC Respiratory Therapist Program Affirms Accreditation

Nov. 15, 2001
Harrisburg Area Community College was recently awarded reaccreditation of its Respiratory Therapist Program from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The next reaffirmation of accreditation will take place in 2007.

The accreditation standards are established by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) in cooperation with the American Association for Respiratory Care, American College of Chest Physicians, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Thoracic Society. HACC's Respiratory Therapist Program received reaccredidation for the commitment on the part of faculty, staff and students to continuous quality improvement in education.

At HACC, graduates in the Respiratory Therapist Program have a 100% job placement rate, with sign-on bonuses and tuition reimbursement in some cases. Graduates from HACC also attain a 100% pass rate on their national credentialing exams in respiratory care.
