American Sign Language 1 introduces you to the fundamentals of ASL which include handshapes, facial expressions, vocabulary, syntax, semantics, and common phrases in signed conversations. These topics are taught within the context of bettering our understanding of the Deaf and hard of hearing communities and culture. $189 (Cost is subject to change).

What is HACC’s Black and White Photography Open Darkroom course like?
Designed for the experienced analog black and white (B&W) photographer with prior darkroom experience, this course will enable students to independently utilize HACC’s state-of-the art B&W darkroom facility to process film, produce contact sheets, and print B&W prints during open, supervised lab sessions. Successful completion of orientation safety course, CEDW 015 “Intro to Black and White Darkroom Practices” is required for use of HACC’s darkroom facility and equipment. CEDW 015 may be waived for those with advanced darkroom experience with administrator approval.

This semester-long, open lab course allows participants to utilize HACC’s Art studio to develop their craft through hand-building, sculpting, or wheel-throwing. Participation in demonstration sessions may also be available. Prerequisites: Designed for experienced artists, completion of ART 151 or the equivalent and a studio safety orientation conducted by Art Department Coordinator is required. Course fee: $200
What is HACC’s Ceramics Open Studio class like?
Creative work is done independently through the non-instructional, supervised shared use of the ceramic’s studio. Participants will receive access to HACC equipment, kilns, and glazes. Clay (cone 10) and hand tools must be purchased separately. Faculty, staff, or lab monitors are available for orientation purposes only.

Start learning this popular language with Conversational Spanish at YOUR community college, HACC!
What is HACC’s Conversational Spanish course like?
This course is designed for those with little to no Spanish language experience and
provides an introduction to commonly used essential phrases, vocabulary,
and a few beginner level grammar concepts. Highly interactive, scenario-based lessons will
will be taught and practiced through a variety of pronunciation exercises, dialogue practice,
and dictation.
