“I am the first in my generation to obtain a college degree.”
Lindsay Snowden, a first-generation college student, said, “I have been an entrepreneur as far back as I remember.”
She graduated from HACC in 2017 with a degree in home and building remodeling and a goal of becoming a general contractor. “Rehabbing and flipping houses is my passion; obtaining and rehabbing a building to use as a homeless shelter for LGBT teens is my dream,” Lindsay said.
Lindsay decided later in life to come to HACC and pursue a second career where she “could transform spaces with my hands.” This was after spending more than 20 years as a licensed practical nurse.
While a HACC student, Lindsay continued to work 7 a.m.-5 p.m. at her full-time job, but was able to take classes that fit around her schedule. Lindsay liked that “instructors are understanding about non-traditional student work schedules.”
With her entrepreneurial drive, who knows…there could be a third career in Lindsay’s future!
