Making the choice to change careers can be a challenge. Just ask Aram, who made that choice and enrolled at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, to study computer information security.
“I had to overcome self-doubt, financial concerns and the fear of starting over in a completely new field. What made a huge difference for me was enrolling at HACC,” said Aram, who worked in customer service and administrative roles for 20 years before becoming a HACC student. “The college made the transition feel possible. From supportive faculty and staff to flexible course options and helpful resources, HACC provided the foundation I needed to pursue a new direction in cybersecurity and information technology.”
Aram credits HACC with offering affordability, flexibility and quality education to students balancing family responsibilities with career goals as key to his success. He reminds other students that they are not alone in feeling anxiety, regardless of who they are or where they come from.

Aram said he gained resilience and adaptability, which will serve him as he continues his education at Harrisburg University.
