What is a CRN?


Each class offering of any course has its own unique identification number.

This is referred to as the CRN (or Course Reference Number). Typically, the CRN consists of 5 digits for Spring or Fall semesters and 4 digits for summer semesters.

For example, you might register for a fall section of an online Accounting 101 course which has a CRN of 20001.

Getting Started

The following outlines the basic steps involved in Admission and Registration at HACC:

STEP  1: Complete an application for admission (pdf) and submit it to the HACC Gettysburg Campus with a one-time $35.00 application fee. You can apply for admissions online via HACCWeb.
   

STEP 2:

Apply for Financial Aid. Check with your PREA Cooperative to see if tuition assistance is provided.

   

STEP 3:

Review your admit letter; which contains your HACC ID and PIN to log onto HACCWeb. HACCWeb contains information on your financial aid, and other personalized information. 

   

STEP 4:

Submit several official documents to the Gettysburg Campus

  • Official transcripts if you are a high school/home school graduate within the past year; and if you would like previous college credits to be evaluated for transfer into a HACC program.
  • If you have been issued a GED within the past year you will need to have an official transcript sent to the admissions office at the Gettysburg Campus. 
  • Official evidence (College Earned Credit form) that you have completed your 424 hours of PREA journeyman linesman training.
   

STEP 5:

Schedule and complete placement testing. A photo ID is required.  If you are far from a HACC campus, proctored placement testing can be arranged.  Contact the placement testing coordinator to arrange testing.

   

STEP 6:

After completing placement testing, schedule an appointment with Bob Karas to assist you with course selections. 

   

STEP 7:

Register for classes Online prior to when the part of term starts. You may also register for classes by submitting an Official Enrollment Form (pdf).

   

STEP 8:

Activate HAWKmail email account. All registered students are assigned a HAWKmail account and will be mailed a letter once registered for classes. 

   

STEP 9:

Pay tuition and fees by the tuition due dates, either on campus's Welcome Center or Online via HACCWeb

   

STEP  10:

Purchase books at your campus Bookstore or Online.
