The Office for Disability Services provides reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids and support services for students with documented disabilities that are based upon the student’s disability documentation, functional limitations and an intake process that collaboratively assesses student needs.
Some services that may be provided based on functional limitations include:
- Exam accommodations including extended time and use of adaptive technology
- Alternative media including texts on tape/CD, e-text and Braille
- Access to class notes
- Sign language interpreters/real-time captioning
- Access to TTY equipment
- Assistive technology including the following software programs: JAWS, Zoom Text, Dragon Naturally Speaking, and Open Book
- Disability counseling and advocacy
- Adaptive furniture
