The Lula Washington Dance Theatre fuses African and Afro-Haitian dance and incorporates the dance styles of gospel church, classical ballet, modern, street, theatrical, and hip hop.
Academy Award winner Lula Washington, founder and artistic director, created ritual movements including war scenes, hunting and large dance sequences for the motioncapture technology for “Avatar!”
Our evening program will feature the dance selections: “Love is…,” “We Wore the Mask,” “Ode to the Sixties,” plus other works.
