Welding, SMAW Qualification Training

The Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) Cert Module is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level employment within the field of welding technology.   Students receive training with welding theory in the classroom that is then applied in the welding lab.  The curriculum focuses on Shielded Metal Arc Welding, more commonly known as “Stick Welding.” This 120-hour module, designed for beginning welders, provides safety practices and welding theory as well as hands-on welding practice in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.  Students have the opportunity to test for AWS (American Welding Society) qualifications.

Welding, GMAW Qualification Training

The Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Qualification Training is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level employment within the field of welding technology.   Students receive training on welding theory in the classroom that is then applied in our state-of-the-art welding lab.  The curriculum focuses on Gas Metal Arc Welding, more commonly known as “MIG Welding.” This 120-hour module, designed for beginning welders, provides safety practices and welding theory as well as hands-on welding practice in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.  Students will have the opportunity to test for one AWS (American Welding Society) qualification.
