Glass Lampworking
This workshop is for beginning and intermediate level students and focuses on the art form known as glass lampworking, or creating glass beads through the use of a torch. Students learn to operate a burner torch, how to wind molten glass on a mandrel to create many bead shapes with a variety of decorative techniques. More experienced students will learn and explore advanced techniques including sculptural glass fish, small glass vessels, sculptural and implosion flower pendants, depending on the interest of the students. This class is designed to give you the basic skills while allowing you time to explore new techniques with guidance from the instructor. Supplies will be discussed during the first class and will cost approximately $25.

Introduction to Glass

Introduces students to the art, aesthetics, and methods of glass working. This course covers theroy and techniques of blowing, fusing, casting, and cold working.

Screen Printed Glass and Ceramic Decals

The main focus of this course will be learning how to design and prepare imagery using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to screen print onto water-slide decal paper using the screen-printing process. Special powders and medium will be used to later apply and fire these images onto ceramic or glass objects. We will also discuss other types of decals and print applications. Experience with ceramic or glass processes is not required to participate in this class. Please bring any imagery you are interested in working with to the first class.
