| GED and Language Institute Pathways classes
Adult Basic Education (ABE): ABE classes are designed for students who need basic skill remediation. ABE classes have both a workplace and academic component.
GED prep classes are for students placing high enough to begin prepping for the GED test. Additional classes include GED Short Course, an advanced 3-week prep course for the GED, and Math only for students only in need of math preparation.
Individuals seeking to enter into Adult Basic Education and GED prep classes should have a goal to transition into higher education or to obtain/retain employment. Ultimately, individuals should be looking to enter the employment arena.
Once students obtain the GED, they have the option to transition into HACC through the Next Step Orientation program.

Individuals who are interested in attending classes for the spring semester must first complete an application and submit it for consideration. Applications will be accepted beginning January 30, 2012 through February 10, 2012 for admission into the early spring semester. Any application received after the deadline date will not be processed. Applications can be picked up during these dates in Whitaker Hall 132 between the hours of 8AM and 4PM, Monday through Friday or accessed through the link below.

Workplace Success is for English as a Second Language (ESL) students to enhance English reading and speaking skills in a workplace context. Individuals entering Workplace Success classes should have a goal to transition into higher level adult education classes or college, to take the GED test, or to obtain/retain employment.

Basic Math is a class designed to assist students in improving their skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percents. Requesting a GED Transcript
The Pennsylvania Department of Education will issue you a transcript of your test scores upon the passing of all five tests. If you would like an additional copy of your transcript for yourself, an agency, college, etc., you must contact the Pennsylvania Department of Education at 717-783-6788.
