Application & Enrollment Process

What do I need to submit?

Students are required to submit an Application packet that includes:

  • Application for Admission
  • Application Fee (one-time, non refundable $35 fee)
  • Release of Information Form(s)
  • Student Memorandum of Understanding
  • Official High School Transcript
  • Recommendation Letter (signed by the school counselor)

Application packets can be obtained from your high school or CTC.  Students cannot Placement Test and/or continue with the enrollment process unless a complete Application packet is submitted.  Incomplete Application packets will be returned to the student.

Do I need to take placement tests?

  • For most courses, you will be required to take a placement test.
  • Applicants who indicate that English is not their native (first) language will be required to complete college-level English as a Second Language (ESL) placement test.
  • Placement testing takes place on a specified date at your high school or CTC.  If you were not in school on the scheduled placement test date, you will be required to test at HACC's Lancaster Campus during specified test times.  Call the Office of Secondary Partnerships at 358-2991 to make arrangements.
  • HACC will communicate placement test results to your high school or CTC. HACC will not send results to you.
  • If you do not meet the minimum requirement for a specific course, you will not be permitted to register.

How do I register?

  • Eligible students will complete HACC's Enrollment Form to Register for Credit Courses.
  • Once registered, a Schedule & Invoice will be mailed to you within 7-10 business days.  Do not discard your Schedule & Invoice. They contain important information.

What if I require additional services?

  • HACC offers reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act 1990 (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act 1973.
  • It is the student's responsibility to contact the Office of Secondary Partnerships at 358-2991 if he or she requires special accommodations at least three weeks prior to the start of the course.

What does my course cost, how do I pay for it, and when is payment due?

  • Students will receive a Schedule & Invoice in the mail unless payment was submitted with the Enrollment Form to Register for Credit Courses.
  • Payment is due August 3, 2011.  Students who do not make payment can be dropped from a course without notification.
  • Students registering on or after August 3, 2011 should be prepared to make payment at the time of registration.

What if I need to withdrawal?

  • Complete a Drop/Add/Withdrawal form and submit it to HACC Lancaster's Office of Secondary Partnership.  Forms are obtained from your high school or CTC.  Withdrawals are effective the date the form is received in the Office of Secondary Partnerships.  Until that date, you will be considered a member of a class even if you never attended.
  • No grade will be recorded for courses dropped within the refund period.  After that time, a grade of "W" or "F" will be assigned depending upon the instructor's assessment of your performance.  No credit is granted with an "W" or "F" grade.
  • Tuition refunds of credit balances due to dropping individual classes will be made automatically one week after the final refund date unless the student makes a written request for an earlier refund.  A refund chart is listed on the back of your Schedule.
  • Remember, just because you change your high school or CTC schedule or tell someone that you are dropping a HACC course, it does not mean you dropped the course.  You must complete a Drop/Add/Withdrawal form.
