The College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Commission granted initial accreditation in April, 1967, and reaffirmed most recently November 2002.

Credentialing
As graduates of HACC's program, sonographers are eligible for credentialing by the nationally recognized American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Students take the ARDMS Sonography Principles and Instrumentation certification exam during the last clinical semester. The two other exams, Abdomen and Obstetrics and Gynecology, are taken after graduation at a regional testing center. Exams each currently cost $200.
To maintain active ARDMS status:
1. You must earn a minimum of 30 ARDMS-acceptable CMEs in your three-year CME period.
2. You must pay your renewal fee each year.
To maintain active registration status, there is an annual renewal fee of $60 (USD) for each calendar year.
