What is Financial Aid?
It is financial help for eligible students to pay for educational expenses at an eligible postsecondary school (e.g., college, vocational school, graduate school).
There are three categories of student aid:
- grants and scholarships,
- work-study, and
- loans
Financial aid can come from a variety of sources — the federal government, state government, the college you attend, the military, employee tuition assistance, and outside organizations.
Financial aid covers expenses such as tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation. Click here to find out more about aid and the terms and conditions of receiving aid.
