A strategic plan exists that includes goals & objectives of the department. The Facilities Management Department 2004-2009 Strategic Plan is reviewed and updated annually. The goals listed in the FMD Strategic Plan include: • Goal #1 To Improve Customer Service thru upgraded equipment & training • Goal #2 To Improve Communications thru face-to-face customer contact • Goal #3 To Empower Employees thru a supportive environment Tactics to achieve these major goals continually change to ensure continual improvement and alignment with the College Strategic Plan (noted below). Input is received during weekly staff meetings, from customer and employee surveys, and from the campus community during face-to-face discussions. The Vision, Mission, Values and Safety goals of the Facilities Management Department are communicated in departmental meetings, through printed handouts, displayed banners and in the FMD newsletter. The current “HACC Strategic Plan 2005-2008” was developed by the College Strategic Planning Committee and is reviewed and updated annually. The College’s Board of Trustees approved the College Strategic Plan (CSP) and the College President’s performance goals are linked to the CSP. There are five major goals in the plan: • Goal #1 Enhance and promote student achievement and academic excellence in credit and non-credit programs and services. • Goal #2 Enhance excellence in teaching. • Goal #3 Promote effective communication within the College and between the College and the community. • Goal #4 Continue to build a more collegial and inclusive college community and enhance the quality of the work and learning environment. • Goal #5 Enhance internal and external partnerships. There are thirty sub goals attached to these five major goals; the Facilities Management Department is responsible for sub goal 4f: “Implement the College-wide Master Plan as per priorities established by the Board of Trustees.” Six members from the campus facilities departments and the chairperson from the campuses “Buildings & Grounds” Committee serve as subgroup members of the College Strategic plan. | |
