| HACC has been recognized for its efforts in energy conservation. Awards include Magna Cum Laude distinction in the 1998 U.S. Environmental Agency’s Energy Star and Green Lights program, and in 2001, an honorable mention from the U.S. Environmental Agency’s Energy Star program. Each year, staff is given an opportunity to recognize the great work of their employees by nominating them to receive the President’s Award. Six people are selected from the nominations to receive a $500 award at Convocation. All nominees are honored at a breakfast with the President on the morning of Convocation. During the past year, three members of The Facilities Management Department received awards. The Grounds & Arboretum Coordinator was a recipient of HACC’s prestigious Bruce Cooper Leadership Award with a monetary gift of $1,000. Two others, an Information Technology Specialist and a Grounds & Arboretum Specialist, each received a President’s award of $500 from the College. Facilities at Harrisburg has a monthly "Employee of the Month" award. | |
