Join Professor Dennis Shoemaker, for this workshop which can help students identify what causes depression, some signs they can look for, and some strategies they can use to manage the effects of depression in their lives.
Dr. Shoemaker has worked in the field of higher education for more than 20 years. He served as a Residence Hall Director at Millersville University for 12 years and has been a full time faculty member in the Psychology Department at HACC for the past 12 years. Dr. Shoemaker also worked as a Psychologist at Wernersville State Hospital for 10 years, serving people with chronic mental illness. His work experience also includes serving as a Psychological Technician for three years at Regional Hospital of Lancaster where he provided biofeedback-based treatments for stress management.
