Ronald E. Rebuck
“I can't imagine where this area would be without HACC. Because of HACC's locations and affordability and excellent quality of education, many individuals have been able to realize a dream that would not have occurred without the community college.”
As an adult working full-time, HACC offered Ronald the opportunity to continue his education and become a registered nurse. It was as a student that he decided he wanted to be a nurse educator at HACC. Ronald’s professional career at HACC now spans 32 years. He served as the Practical Nursing Program director for nine years and both the Harrisburg Campus and Collegewide Nursing Program director for 15 years. Ronald advises current and prospective nursing students with an understanding of what it was like to be in their shoes: “It has been a privilege and an honor to advise students about nursing education at HACC because I am a graduate. I have walked the walk so I can talk the talk. I have spent many years here, and I have witnessed the growth of the College and the expansions to other campuses. HACC offers a caring environment for students and the faculty is invested in the success and future of the students.”
In addition to professionally giving back by teaching and advising nursing students, Ronald is active in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Health Committee and choir. He also serves on the advisory boards for Messiah College, Millersville University and York College and serves as treasurer of the Pennsylvania College of Associate Degree Nurses.
Ronald describes his HACC education as “top notch” and felt “fully prepared to enter the workforce as a professional nurse and prepared to pursue my upper degrees.” He received his bachelor’s degree from York College of Pennsylvania and his master’s degree from the University of Maryland.
