The HACC Honors Program is pleased to announce the 2011 - 2012 Honors Lecture Series! Our recently instated Lecture Series Co-Directors Kim Hall and Cristal Renzo have done a fantastic job of securing guest speakers from around the area covering a variety of intriguing subjects. Additional lectures are currently in development, so check back often for new content.

Honors Lectures are open to all students and the public. Please feel free to bring your friends and family.

Jeffrey W. Robbins: "What is Post-Secularism? Rethinking the Relationship Between Religion and Politics"

Jeffrey W. Robbins is Associate Professor and Chair of Religion and Philosophy, and director of the American Studies program at Lebanon Valley College, where he has been named the Thomas Rhys Vickroy Teacher of the Year. He is the author or editor of five books, including most recently Radical Democracy and Political Theology from Columbia University Press in 2011.

He is the associate editor of the Journal for Cultural and Religious Theory, co-editor of the Columbia University Press book series, "Insurrections: Critical Studies in Religion, Politics, and Culture," and serves on the steering committee of the "Theology and the Political" consultation group of the American Academy of Religion.

Susan Condie PhD(c) MSN, RN, CNE, ACNS-BC is currently employed as the Campus Coordinator for the RN-BS Nursing Program at Penn State University – Schuylkill Campus. For greater than fifteen years, Susan has worked in various capacities of nursing education from clinical educator and clinical nurse specialist in an acute care setting to the academic world of teaching undergraduate, second-degree, and graduate nursing students.

Susan received her certified nurse educator certification from the NLN; additionally, she is certified as an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist who is currently in the dissertation phase of her PhD at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.
