Bucknell Community College Scholarship Program
Seeking HACC students interested in transferring to Bucknell University as early as Fall 2013.
Students who meet specific criteria, including having earned at least 12 college-level credits by January 2, 2012, having at least a 3.5 GPA, and meeting the low-to-moderate income level as defined by FAFSA (an Adjusted Gross Income below $50,000 for families or below $25,000 for independent students) are eligible to apply. In addition, students should be enrolled in a transfer curriculum program with an interest in one of Bucknell's many programs, in their Colleges of Engineering, Management, and Arts and Sciences. This scholarship opportunity includes a required Summer 2012 six-week in residence program at Bucknell University where selected students will complete two Bucknell University courses and participate in extra-curricular opportunities. Upon completion of the summer program, students will return to HACC to complete their associates degree and apply to transfer to Bucknell University to earn a FULL-TUITION SCHOLARSHIP for two years of full-time enrollment at Bucknell University and additional aid for the cost of room, board, and more (depending on the student's financial needs).

| The All-USA Academic Team seeks to honor outstanding students from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines to hold up as representatives of all outstanding community college students. Eligibility Criteria: Must be enrolled at a community college through December 2010. Must have a cumulative college-level GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for all coursework completed in the last five years (Fall 2005-present), regardless of institution attended. If the student has attended more than one school, all transcripts will be recalculated to determine the cumulative GPA for all college-level coursework taken. GPA is evaluated at the point of application and the student must maintain a 3.50 or higher GPA through the Fall 2010 semester to remain eligible. Students must be on track to earn an associate or a bachelor's degree (or the equivalent of a U.S. associate or bachelor's degree). Students need to have a minimum of 36 semester (or 48 quarter) college-level credits completed at or transferred to a community college by December 31, 2010 and 48 semester (or 72 quarter), college-level credits by August 31, 2011. Students must have a minimum of 30 semester (or 45 quarter), college-level credit hours completed at a community college in the past five years. (Courses must be college-level. Developmental or remedial coursework, such as pre-algebra or basic writing, will be removed when determining number of credits as well as cumulative GPA.) Must not have been nominated previously for the All-USA Community College Academic Team or the Coca-Cola All-State Community College Academic Team. Must have a community college record free of suspension, probation or other serious disciplinary action. Nominee must not have a criminal record, and if a convicted felon, must have all conditions of sentencing, including probation, completed. | Candidates for the scholarship must have a GPA of 4.0, and have completed thirty (30) College level credit hours at HACC by the end of the spring semester of the year in which they apply. The semester most recently completed determines part-time/full-time status. |
| The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) |

| The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) has an education budget of $1,000,000. The NIAF will award scholarships and grants to outstanding students in the summer of 2010 for use during the following academic year. The awards will be made on the basis of academic merit and divided between two groups of students. General Category I: Italian American students who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievements. Area of study: open. General Category II: Those students from any ethnic background majoring or minoring in Italian language, Italian studies, Italian American studies or a related field, who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievements. CONDITIONS OF SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY To be considered for a NIAF scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria: Be enrolled in an US accredited institution of higher education for the Fall 2010. Have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 out of 4.0 (or the equivalent). Be a United States citizen or a permanent resident alien. Fit into one of the two NIAF scholarship categories. For the purposes of the NIAF Scholarship Program, to be Italian American the student must have at least one ancestor who has immigrated from Italy. No immediate family members of the NIAF Board of Directors, Regional Vice-Presidents, Area Coordinators or staff are eligible for NIAF scholarships.
