Developmental Studies
Developmental studies at HACC consist of courses in math, writing, and reading which prepare students to succeed at the college level. While developmental courses fall under the appropriate academic division, academic advising for students who take developmental courses is done through ABED.
Academic advising is one of the most important influences in a student's collegiate experience. Through regular contact with students whether face to face, by mail, on the telephone, or e-mail, advisors gain meaningful insights into a student's academic, social and personal experiences. Advisors use these insights to help students become part of the academic community, develop sound academic and career goals and ultimately, to be successful learners. |
