EVER SINCE HE WAS LITTLE, TOM ANDREJEV WAS ALWAYS TAKING THINGS APART AND PUTTING THEM BACK TOGETHER, JUST TO SEE HOW THEY WORKED. THIS LED HIM TO THE FIELD OF ENGINEERING AND HE CHOSE HACC AS THE PLACE TO START.
“HACC definitely gave me the knowledge I needed to succeed as I furthered my education. It also gave me the discipline to stay on top of assignments and pay attention in class,” said Andrejev, who earned an associate degree in mechanical engineering technology from HACC. He is currently working on a bachelor of science degree in structural engineering at Penn State Harrisburg.
HACC is near his Harrisburg home and affordable – two main reasons why Andrejev chose a community college. A month before he graduated from HACC, he landed a job as an office engineer at S & R Enterprises, a structural steel erection company in Harrisburg.
“Everything I learned at HACC – the discipline and the knowledge – is what I use in my professional life. I can definitely apply it to my everyday tasks,” he said.
