Persistence - Retention

Student persistence and retention are important aspects of a student's ability to complete a program or degree. Persistence is measured in a student'sability to successfully complete all portions of the relevant educational requirements. Retention is the rate at which students return to school from term to term. Both are necessary to ensure a student's success in obtaining his or her educational goals. HACC measures these aspects by monitoring student success in terms of grades awarded, the time span needed to complete developmental education requirements, and the rate at which students return to college each term.
