Tuition Assistance

HACC offers two types of tuition assistance programs, Employee Aid and Tuition Aid.

Employee Aid
After one year of service, an employee who is not designated as “temporary” may request financial assistance for job-related courses at any institution according to established guidelines. Credit courses may be taken on either an individual basis in support of professional development or as part of a degree granting program of study resulting in a degree.

Other activities may include structured programs of study conducted by recognized educational and training agencies leading to licensure, registry, CEU’s, certifications or other documented recognition in the profession, as long as the program meets for a minimum of 36 hours. Courses, seminars and workshops of shorter duration should be funded through the department’s staff development budget.

Tuition Aid
Upon employment, the full-time employee may request aid for any job-related credit or noncredit course. After one year of service, the College will pay the resident share of tuition for any HACC credit courses for the employee and eligible dependents.

After one year of service to the College, regular part-time employees may apply for tuition aid to enroll in one HACC course (credit or job-related noncredit) per semester, provided they remain employed with the College. Enrollment shall be limited to space available after the first day of class in a given semester.

After five years of service by regular part-time employees, the spouses and dependents of such employees may apply for tuition aid for any credit course offered by the College, provided such employees remain employed with the College. Enrollment shall be limited to space available after the first day of class in a given semester, and shall be limited to one course per semester for each eligible applicant.
