college for more than 30 years, starting as a faculty member, rising to
dean, and then to vice president of academic affairs. He is a 1967 HACC
graduate, earning his associate degree in mathematics before completing
a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1969 and a master’s degree in

Penn State University. More
Help PA community colleges
HACC inerim president, Ron Young, is urging all HACC
alumni and friends of the college to support the new statewide community
college advocacy campaign by signing an online
petition. The petition urges state
officials to provide greater financial support for
Pennsylvania's 14 community colleges and their nearly 500,000 credit and
noncredit students.
The petition is part of Advance PA: Community Colleges
Leading the Way, a communications and advocacy campaign that was
launched at PA Community College Lobby Day at the State Capitol on April
27.
Career help at your fingertips
CareerSpots
are new online videos that HACC’s Career Services is offering alumni and
students free. The videos feature "real” students who discuss such
career and job search concerns as resume writing, interviewing skills,
networking, and dressing for success. Each video is only a few minutes
long and includes a downloadable handout with additional information and
tips.
HACC also provides a no-cost online service that allows
alumni to use a local employment data base. Through HACC’s College Central Network
(CCN), you can search for full-time, part-time, or seasonal positions or
post your resume for employers to review.
The Career Services professional staff at all HACC
campuses offers an array of career-related services and workshops; most
are free to alumni. More
